Caught a few, missed a few. Fishing pretty tough. First time in years (and I'm old) that i haven't found some big schools this time of year.
A few random thoughts and observations.
1. The ale spawn finally ended a couple days ago. Seems like it lasted a lot longer to me. 2. The fish should start schooling up pretty quick now. 3. A lot of fish are still above the bridge. 4. The fish have switched to smaller bait. 5. Bait is easy when fishing is tough. 6. How many crazy, inexperienced boat and jet ski operators can fit on the lake at one time. Don't know how many times I had to slow down or stop while I was underway.

Bonus points to ya for even going out there with the craziness.
I’m surprised about the alewife spawn. Surface temps were 85 the other day. Seems too hot for that. Then again, this is 2020....

Water temp was 82.7 at 4am Tuesday morning. Never seen so many ales flipping on the bank. 2020 is definitely one for the books.

I went out for the last trip till fall three weekends ago, i too had to stop or completely turn from the way i was heading, also seen a guy swimming at almost dark probably 30 foot of the bank, then two kayakers out at dark didn't pay them to much mind went to the islands at dam from cedar keys entrance. After it was completely dark wind howling seen something towards bank below the dam and theres those 2 people on the yaks. We did mark a few down there but didn't catch anything but a few cats. This has been the worst spring we have had in years. Come on fall!

This spring has just been so inconsistent and off of its usual timing... didn’t have much time where the water was in the 65-75 degree range. Cold in the early spring and then right after that was over, temps skyrocketed. Maybe will make for a good fall

I was blessed to have my best spring yet on the lake this spring. But it was very Early Spring and I got to hang out some extra time due to the virus. From the middle of March to the the end of march we boated a bunch of 35"+ fish when the water temps were learking right around the 60* mark the fishing seemed to be on fire.
