Got out with my little man (2.5yr old) about 9am Sunday morning and fished until about 10:30am when the boat traffic ran us off. We stayed within eye sight of the house. I had caught a 30” off the dock Saturday, so I knew at least a few fish were in the area. We marked scattered singles, but no major groups of fish. Planer boards with about 20ft of freeline attracted some swirls, but we didn’t catch any fish on boards. All of our fish came on light lines (1/4oz) with anywhere from 45-50ft of line out on the deep side of points. We probably could have picked up a couple on down rods as well, but I forgot to grab those rods before heading out.
Water temps were 72-73deg, but honestly it felt much colder than that just below the surface. I anticipate the fish being in their normal post spawn stomping grounds soon, if not already.
Trying to push more reports on this site to keep it alive. Facebook is the dominate place now it seems, but this site still has it’s niche. However, it’s not free to keep it up like FB either. I’ve fished more this year than the past 3 years combined - will continue to post when I get the chance to get out.
