Ok guys, I'm looking for advice. Last weekend while fishing I got the transducer wire caught in the trolling motor mount and cut it almost in half. I know the manufactures say these can't be spliced but I found a few utube videos that say otherwise. Has anyone tried this and have you had any success? My unit is a Garmin Striker 7. The way I understand it is the tough part is getting the wire shielding in place after the splice. I'm going to give it a try before I buy a new transducer and I'll let you know how it works out. Thanks for any suggestion you might have.

Well folks, I made my transducer wire repair and got on the water yesterday to test things out. It seems to work fine and I can tell no difference in the way it works compared to how it was before the damage. It was a pain to splice and seal up in the shielding and shrink tube but if it holds up it should be fine. Good luck fishing and stay safe. Hotdog
