Just as the lake was lowering here comes round 2. Looks like AEP has a doing all it can to stay on top of it - lake level has been dropped under normal pond at the moment From the Smith Mountain Project Facebook page: We are monitoring the movements of Tropical Depression Bertha and making adjustments as necessary. Currently, Smith Mountain Lake forebay is at 793.85 and Leesville is at 605.11. Based on information from the National Weather Service, we are not anticipating going above the normal full pond elevation of 795 feet during this rain event. Current water levels and flows can be found at www.aep.com/Recreation/Hydro.

Heard it was pretty rough around Indian last weekend. Didn’t see it though for myself.

That would be an understatement... I went to Indian in the Friday night tx. Not bad on main channel but once you got into Indian there were logs that looked like they were longer than my boat. Water color was ok (what you could see of it) 😂
Just trying to see if the main channel is reasonably safe for tomorrow night. Thanks!
