So first off as some of you know by reading my post I’m not a big Striper fisherman.... I spend most of my time on lake targeting Crappie and White Perch, but occasionally I get the urge to go try plugging for them. Well I went last night, put in at around 9:30pm. Fished a couple secondary points with not much action and then about 10:30 came across a main lake point that was loaded with fish, so it sounded. Point was thick with shad and it sounded like a war zone with the fish busting them. They were blowing up on the bank, 20 yards off the bank and everywhere in between. I threw every freaking thing I had in the tackle box and never even got a hit, what the heck...... I mean I had several blow up beside the boat and literally startled me to death. I tried broken back Redfin slow retrieving on top, F18’s, Bombers, flukes, shad rap, rattle trap..... basically everything but my crappie jigs. And this proceeded to go on until 12am when the action finally died off. What would y’all have done? Am I doing something wrong???

Been in a similar situation recently and was dumbfounded. I used to get tons of bites with a 3" storm shad imitation but that bite has died down significantly.

Storm Thunderstick reeled very, very, very slow - and then slow it down some more.....

Yeah that’s what I started off with was the broken back thunder stick, maybe I wasn’t reeling slow enough 🤔 I thought I was though......
