Got to the public ramp Friday at the main Bridge about 2:00pm, thought Friday might be a better day than Saturday. WRONG. Vehicles were parked all the way out past the tree in the grass. Finally got to launch and headed up the lake to Indian.
Indian
WT-~61-62 Stained, about 2' viz. Slightly better back in than on the main channel. Not many boats in there. Tried Airborne's pattern, a LOT. did not get a single bite. Fished every point in Indian. Left there and went to Stoney.
Stoney
WR ~62-63, warmer further back. Color very slightly better than Indian. Tried same pattern, got the same results:(. Decided to head down below the bridge to clearer (relative) water.
Main Channel near B & B.
Much more clear. WT ~60-61. Very windy on main points. Started in a small cove near a cliff and worked my around the windy deep water cliff. Picked up a yellow perch on 2nd cast. Had 3 LM over 3# in less than 20 minutes. Rapala over ANY wood on deep cliffs was dead on. Finished that cliff and headed down just a little ways to same pattern on other cliffs. Same results. All fish seemed to be 2.5-3.5 pounds. Didn't get anything over 3.5, but HEY I was catching fish!! Bite died just before dark.
B & B. Decided to hit those points after dark to see if any Stripers were there. 1st point got hammered on the big Rapala...great fight, wrong kind of fish. A 22.3 pound Catfish! Didn't get any more hits. I swear I think there was a boat on every point I could see in that area. Decided to head back up to Stoney as I had marked some stripers in there first time through. Nobody there, no bites (maybe why nobody was there (LOL)?? Hit some main channel points on the way back. Heard some explosions on shore from about 11pm to 1am, but sound more like catfish. There were shad trying to come up, just seemed like they're not quite ready.
Won't be long now!!
Better trip this time, caught fish AND stayed dry
Be careful out there!
