The warm temperatures signaled it was time to begin the night fishing season. Right away it was obvious that mine was not an original idea. Holy cow, was yesterday insane as far as fishing pressure and last night was no let up. It also became apparent that folks were fishing as though it was late April or May as main lake points and creek mouths were crowded. We started that pattern ourselves but realized that was not working, at least in area we were in. We retreated to the backs of a couple of creeks and things worked a little better. We fished from 8PM till midnight, boating 3 stripers, a smallmouth and a largemouth. Actually heard a few busts, but we have awhile to go before any bait starts to flip. The largemouth was the highlight as the fat joker came in at 6.9 pounds. If she had eaten a few more shad she would’ve made 7.
