Went it this morning for my first ever attempt at trolling. The light I was gonna try for bait was not on. Should have seen that as a sign. Ha Ha. Went to another light and did manage to get some bait even though I am pretty bad at throwing a net. Put out two downlines one with a 3way swivel using a spoon and a soft plastic shad on a jighead and one a-rig. Fished Becky's and Betty's creek area. No luck. Headed up around Indian Point Marina trolled around there for awhile. No luck. Went back down to the straightaway above the bridge and trolled all the way to the bridge. No luck there either. Saw very very few fish on the fishfinder anywhere. Started fishing about 6 and called it quits about 10 or 10:30. Did not expect to catch a lot but was hoping for at least one to keep my son interested. Oh well maybe have better luck next time.

Hang in there rdnkjp, we all have been skunked and felt like giving up. Things will start clicking one day and it's all good.

Any one been up the cove going into old Campers, Had the locator on yestrday and it was showing fish all the way up Doctors row

Don't let it get you down. I'm way ahead of you as the current reigning worlds worst dad at finding stripers when my son is on the boat. My wife could tell you about the one time i just about broke down and cried over not being able to get him on stripers. Every now and then we will work in some catfish or a carp just to keep spirits up.

We usually do OK during the springtime night bite but this wad our first trolling adventure. Told my son don't expect too much. There's a lot more to learn about trolling than night bite fishing. Will probably be back out before long trying again. Or may try some night time trolling if that will work??
