Star of the show was the water temperature, I’m loving the warmer temperatures! Water temps ranged from low 50s to upper 50s in the back of coves in shallow water. Got up around 5:45 as we were a good boat ride from where we wanted to fish. We decided to pull boards in a main creek on the Roanoke side. We started from the main channel and pulled in, after review I think it would’ve been better to start from the back and pull out, I didn’t want to go too far up river as I expected it to be a zoo. Anyways 5-10 minutes after putting the boards out we had a bass boat who didn’t seem to be paying attention, or have any thought that we might be trolling run over all of our planer board lines. Cut all the lines and we only recovered 2 boards, (we had 3 out) one was fine, another was bent out of shape and cut in multiple places (unusable) and we still don’t know where the other one went, we couldn’t find it anywhere. But he kept going as if nothing had happened! We moved away from that spot and found a point that fish were busting on occasionally, caught one fish that we forgot to put the card with the code on it in the picture, dang it! Wouldn’t have made much a difference anyways though because that’s all she wrote for us. Happy to see fish busting and spring springing early. If I had to do it again I probably would’ve gone up river with everyone else and tried my luck, looked like some people got some good looking fish. The 100 other tournaments that went on today left boat ramps packed!

Shame you didn't have some 100lb braid that your bass boat buddy's prop shaft seal might have found. I say this in jest, sorta.
