Air temp mid 50’s water at 48degrees clear sky’s and high pressure.
Quick trip this weekend got to the lake Saturday evening with camoboatguy and headed to catch bait. Found good bait in a BW creek and loaded the tank with dollar bills, money makers and a couple border line Mongos. Had to use the tape net as the bait was holding in 20’ plus. Headed to our BW fishing destination and put out a spread. Marked a good number of fish but only got a couple hits and managed to put one of those in the boat at 28”. Slow evening but kept the skunk under the building.
Sunday, WT 48, air 50’s-low 60’s clear and pressuring dropping some.
Just in board with a buddy at the State park with dreams of jigging some up. Started off sloooowww and not marking much at all. With not luck jigging we switched tactics. Haven’t fished artificial much at all but I did bring a couple lead core set-ups running a tandum rig with a flutter spoon and buck tail. We dropped them out and started trolling the big motor. Not long in to the pull we boated a small striper around 20”. We moved down around the state park and dropped them down again. Got a hit and made a circle back and picked up another 20’s” fish. Called it day around 4 and headed back home. No big fish but it was two trips and no skunk and time spent with good friends. Enjoyed every minute of it. LIVE BLESSED
