Went out this morning coming off a skunk on the last trip. I never pray for fish but today was an exception. I had a family member with me this morning that has been battling cancer and just received news of a bad prognosis. I did ask the good Lord to give this fella some fish. He needed a good time. Found fish immediately and had the first one on in minutes. We were working fish pretty good and noticed gulls gathering a short distance away. Moved that direction and found a large school. Worked those over till it slowed down then did something I haven’t done since October, I headed south of Becky’s Creek. Pulled into a creek and found fish in short order. Things finally ground to a halt about 13:30. The fish were a little smaller even by jigging standards, with a good many around 18-21 inches. Finished with 26. So thankful for the good trip.

Great report Choochoo!! Love hearing about that next generation of fish being so healthy! I dont get to fish for the big schools very often so it is great hearing they are there and keeping the fishery cycle going.

Nice work! Those days are special. Last month, I found out that my dad has melanoma metastasized to his lung. Last week, I found out that it has metastasized to his brain. On Sunday, he and I and my young son spent the day together, traveling to Gander and Sportsman's WH in Roanoke to shop for "striper rods" and look around. It was an awesome day. On Monday, that brain metastasis put him in Neuro ICU, where he remains today. Believe me when I say that if I get any more chances, there won't be many days I'll ever again take for granted. Your family member is in my prayers, and if you ever want/need to talk or vent to someone who likely is standing in similar shoes, I'm always available. -Corey eight-0-four, five-six-four, five-one-3-one

Choochoo and greywalls, I send each of you my prayers as I read of your family members and their fight. I lost my 59 year old sister last month, after a 4 year battle against breast cancer, and not a day goes by that I don't think of her. Enjoy every moment that the good lord allows, because he has a plan for each of us, and only he knows what lies ahead. Take care, and be safe.

Thank y’all for sharing. My father died of cancer almost twenty years ago. I think it serves us all to cherish moments as they unfold. I believe that other than the will of God, time is the most powerful force on earth. It has a way of slowly and steadily removing things from us without us even knowing it until they are gone.
