Partly cloudy, air temp: 40s Water temp: 46-48 Launched from hales ford public Got in the water about 930am and went up river. Found bait in 30-50 feet and let the new taped 10ft go to work. 2 throws about a dozen mongos each throw and I was ready to fish. I was excited to see bait this big.
Once I finished getting bait settled I realized my iPilot remote read “RF error” and cycled on and off and would not connect. Almost called the trip but my first mate for the day “girlfriend” found the iPilot remote app for iPhone and saved the day.
We fished a few different spots that looked promising with down and free lines with no takers. Headed home at dark.
My lessons from this trip were: 1. Always be prepared with a backup remote 2. Taped net is a game changer.

Taped nets are the ticket on that deep bait. Good thinking on the GF's part for the App. might owe her a least one more fishing trip.
