What else is there to do than tie flies and check out the fishing forums on a shitty icy day like this one, ughhhh. Was out there the past two days in the B28 region again and had good 9-10fish days. Didn't have any bait showing at my light and too cold to strip flyline so went with trolling my go to Cotton Cordell redfin with the deep diving lip. Fish on in the first 5 minutes and steady for a good 3/4 hrs, mid-day too! Again I haven't had much luck finding fish in the good 10-15lb range like last year and I think I've just found a smaller sized school. Either way a tight line is always a blast and had strong fighting 7lbers with one 10 yesterday, with one little 3lber too. Dying to get out there and even debating some icy fishing for an hour if this lets up this afternoon, got the itch bad here boys. I did talk to a boat the other day who came to the area from reading an earlier post so I hope this helps anybody else doing this cold weather fishing. Good luck out there! Attachments:

Man, I'm scratching all over with withdrawals - will be another 10 days or so before I can get back on the water, but at least I'll be in the goold ol' USA come Wed afternoon.... Glad someone is out there catching the - thanks for the report!

Thanks for the blackwater report juiceman! Let's us know somebody out there trying in this weather! I may have to try in the next few days! My last trip was end of jan and I'm ready to try it again!! Great report!!

I'll be damned....I've been on this forum (or some past version of it) for years.....did I just read that somebody actually CAME to the Blackwater to fish based on recent reports?......the fall of communism....global warming.....mortgage crisis......gun control.......( parasite kill off).... unemployment......immigration......BLACKWATER FISHERY....cat's and dog's, living together..........................................whew................

Yeah Shad, last year I got on a nice school at B10 just in front of that little island going back into the Mexican place. It was right at dark. On the way back to the house we rented I casually mentioned that to one of the local guys I see on the lake alot. We agreed to meet there the next am. I arrived just at daybreak and there were 4 guide boats, 3 pontoons, and 4-5 other boats all draggin bait? ;D ;D
