Water temp: 47-48 Weather: partly cloudy Put in about 830am Fished above the S-curves. Found blankets of bait 20ft wide from 30-50ft in couple different larger creek mouths. Jigged with no luck for few than switched to bait hunting. I actually thought my sonar was broken but confirmed with another striper fisherman who passed by. I threw that net all day until my shoulders couldn’t take it. And I got 3.. but 3 is better than none after all that work. (It’s funny how 3 shad can make the whole thing worth it.) The net: 1/2” 10ft that works great when they are less than 15ft. I’m thinking 3/4” taped 10ft would be the ticket for these. Anyone locally sell the net I’m looking for?

Doubt you will find one locally and Fitec is out of stock according to their website. You can always tape up a net yourself - it’s a chore but doable
That last graph shot almost looks like striper - maybe it was big bait

I actually thought that but never got anything to mess with my spoon? caught one very large shad in that area so I figured they were just big and out running my net. Other guy I spoke with said he was marking great fish in that area but they wouldn’t eat his dollar bill size baits.

A couple shots of the 1lb per foot. Also it has a 50ft hand line.

Thanks!! I just found the 10’ taped 5/8” 1lb and pulled the trigger. Fitec was out of stock on their site and I got it for almost half off. Now for the waiting

Nice! I think I’m more excited to catch bait than I am to go fishing.

Nice! I think I’m more excited to catch bait than I am to go fishing. Just make sure you know what is below you - and in that pile of bait... watch that sonar really good for trees, rocks & such - because a tape net that stays open will REALLY wrap on a tree or rock or other - trust me... That said - if you do hang one - don't immediately panic and cleat it off and fire up the big motor. We had one hang solid the other weekend and was able to free it without any damage by working around to the other side from the angle retrieved and it eventually just popped off (though we did pull with the trolling motor). However, other times I've had them get so entangled the big motor even had a little trouble making head way until the Braille lines all gave way..... it's all a part of the game......
