Just wanted to make a “small” post about my recent experience with the owner of Xtreme bait systems. If anyone’s in the market they are worth a look, their customer service alone not to mention the new filter sock setup keeps bait better than any other tank I’ve personally owned.
After the last full empty and clean of my tank (which are rare) I noticed water within the outer walls, but not leaking onto the boat. I reached out via Facebook messenger and they got back within minutes with an easy solution to install a weep hole for the exterior walls.
Since my tank was old it did not have any of these upgrades that the new tanks have to fix original problems(from last owners mistakes)
Unfortunately I had a very old tank purchased from franklin outdoors before the new owner (Damon) took over 2 years ago. (It still had the box filter set up and also was running one of the loudest 500gph pumps ever.)
My next step was to ask about their “Refurbished Tank” process. For my size tank ( 20gal model, actually holds 30gal) it would cost Only $187 !
It includes everything brand NEW: double welds on everything, green LED light, wiring for everything, new improved filter strainer on bait side(less picking dead bait stuck to strainer), new almost silent 800gph pump, 1-1/4” stand pipe for more flow over the normal 1”, Filter sock set up as mentioned before and they even routed every corner and edge to be smoother and less “catchy” on cast nets and shirt sleeves.
I asked the customer service lady dawn what was needed for a fast turn around, since it’s always striper season right?
Her reply was: I’ll have Damon call you for delivery(I’m expecting to pay more and not have a tank for 2-5 weeks).
Less than 10 minutes later Damon calls me and says I have one like yours in the shop refurbished and ready, I’ll be in Roanoke Monday that work for you? (This was Friday night about 630pm)
*This is where in my opinion they won my business.
He reached out middle of the day Monday and said he was running behind coming from Kentucky and may not make it to my house until 830 or 9 o’clock that night.
He showed up at 830 switched tanks chatted for a few and he was on to the next( a dealer he has on SML)
Very professional and friendly.
I will definitely be a xtreme bait systems customer for awhile. It’s hard to beat customer service like that.
*added some photos hope this helps someone find the right tank for them.
