Does anyone have any experience dealing with All Seasons Marine Service in Huddleston? I noticed that they were an Evinrude dealer in the area. I am considering re-powering my pontoon with an E-tec and my other two boats also have older Evinrude 2strokes in them. I am new to the lake so I am looking for a good mechanic that works on those motors.

I've used them a time or two. I understand they have a very good reputation.

Are there any other good shops that work on E-tec outboards that I should know be aware of?

I would steer clear of etecs. Unfortunately, I own one.

What year and HP rating is your Etec? What issues have you experienced with the motor?

09 40hp
Cracked oil tank shortly after delivery, replaced under warranty and then replaced at my cost of $360 a couple years later.
Water in the lower unit oil since almost day 1. Not lots of water but the oil is always milky. No solution.
Both drain plugs in the lower unit have stripped and have needed repaired at my cost. Likely from needing to drain the oil every few months.
2 VST units, even though the engine is running almost weekly and always stored with stabil. Both at my cost.
The exhaust megaphone cracked and came apart due to the VST causing a lean condition. It required a complete disassembly to replace. And the replacement has broken as well. So two of those.
Constantly fouling plugs since about year 3. Plugs need indexed so they are expensive to replace.
Countless impellers, lots worn down but a few shredded for no reason.
Continually clogged injectors thanks to the VST debris.
Of course, it’s got ~2000 hours. My biggest complaint is the struggle of finding someone to work on it. You’re limited to anglers choice or nobody, in this local area.
I’ve had new Merc, Honda, Yamaha and Suzuki since 2003. No troubles like the Etec and anyone can work on them if something does happen. Once this one finally dies, I won’t own another.
