I’m in the market for a new bait tank. And I’ve been researching, but I want to hear yalls opinions. What is the best bait tank on the market right now in your opinion? Xtreme, creek bank, SBT2 ( if you can find one), shad shack, etc.? Let me know what you guys think! I love my striper soup tank, but I just want to upgrade, also with that being said I’ll be selling my soup tank for a pretty cheap price if anyone would be interested.

I love my xtreme 30gal does everything I need it to and they also upgraded to the filter sock system recently which is a plus in my book. The owner seems happy to help. Actually sent me the plans for the filter sock upgrade that only cost me 10 bucks to build my self at Lowe’s.

I just bought an Extreme 35 gal and love it so far. Have kept 40 Money Makers going strong over night and the filter sock (bag) system works very well.

The original Xtreme’s were plagued with weld failures and leaks into the inner walls - so be careful if you get a used one as I don’t know if you can determine when it was made. If it has the wide flow filter box it’s likely an original one.
I’ve heard good things since moving to the new owner. The filter sock system is certainly cheaper for them to produce.... and reports here are so far very positive.
SBT-II’s are tried and proven but availability is a challenge for new
I like the tanks with center floor drains - Mel’s and ShadShack - as that is where the heavier stuff tends to accumulate
A number of these dual wall tanks do not have true insulation - just an air gap. However with the use of Venturi based air systems I think that is more a contributor to water temp changes now than the insulation (or not)

Also - take a look at Evolution bait systems. He has a bottom floor drain and was the first I believe to use the filter sock system. A buddy just had one of these delivered and I will be checking it out this weekend a post an in-depth review after this weekend.

I just went through the same comparisons and ended up w/ the SBII 40gal. I also ordered a Zamco for the built in livewell and was VERY impressed with the filter and aeration zamcofilters.com/
