Headed to the lake around 6 AM on Saturday, it was rainy so I wasn’t expecting to have much company, put the boat in at hardy ford and headed down river. As soon as I turned the corner, and I could see the trussle, there were birds everywhere, as soon as I got close enough there were fish everywhere busting. This was the first time I’ve ever seen stripers with my own eyes swimming at the top of the water column. There were so many, a few of them almost hit my boat. They were busting back under the trussle and out all around in the main channel. As soon as the rain cleared up and the sun came out they were gone. And it looked like a crime scene, there was stirred up and muddy water up all against the bank, and a lot of dead and wounded shad floating. Went again this morning and it was dead, no busting fish, and no fish caught all day by me. Figuring it was the cold front that moved out Saturday morning that had them riled up early Saturday .

Love seeing those fish on top! A good sign for the future of SML.
