Fished Indian Creek, Saturday. Caught bait, before daylight, all being alewives. Started 30 minutes before sunrise, and it was dark! Boated a 10+ before 7am. Had a few more bites by 8am, but no hook-ups. Fished till 11am, with no more action. Had enough of the rain, and and called it a day. This was my first time fishing SML, so, seeing I was able to catch some bait, and a striper, I'll call it a success.

The better catch rates I’ve been hearing of seem to be coming from jigging or casting swimbaits / plugs over live bait - or at least larger live bait. Weird Fall in that regard based on the pattern over the last few years. In the Fall you best have a swim bait or plug at the ready all the time cause you never know when you will come up on breaking fish - but right now if you’re marking fish and not getting a bite I’d be dropping a jig or doing some casting to see if you can get a reaction bite.
