Hey everyone! I hope that everyones fall season is going well. Last week I bought a Lowrance HDS 7, and I installed the transducer and I had only one problem, I HATE these notches on the mount! There is no way that I can make the transducer level. One notch down and its angled too far downward, and the notch above it is too high. The picture i have shown is the setting I have it on now. It definitely is not level but what I heard is that its better for the transducer to be angled up a little bit if you can't get it level. I just wanted to get your guys' feedback on this. Is there any other mounting option I can try, does anyone else have a problem with this, or I quite possibly could be missing something. Thanks!!!!

I would rather have it angled high. That way I can give the boat a little more gas to make it level. This is for the side/down scan. I’ve also made a wedge out of starboard to place between the transducer mount and boat. Good luck!!

Keep in mind that “level” on the trailer, or even “level” to the keel of the boat is not level when in the water. And as you are running down the lake the “level” will change anyway.
Get it close and see what you mark - if your arches are not symmetrical then you’ll know which way to adjust - if at all.

A little hard to tell with bait clouds vs distinct fish marks, but that does not look too bad from what I can see

Images look good - think you have it about right. If you have make an adjustment and it's between the gear teeth on the bezel try shimming w/ thin washers.

Mr Ward makes a good point here: the transom will sit lower in the water, whether you're fishing, idling, or running WOT. Judging by the pic you posted I think you're in good shape.

I'll echo everyone else. That looks really good to me. There will be no "perfect" solution if that is what you are after. So many factors go into marking from waves, to weight in the boat, to trolling speed, and the list goes on. I found getting it darn close and making any minor tweaks once I got in the water was all I needed. Those notches help with keeping things straight when underway.
