My first day fishing, we started out at about 9:30 the night before, catching bait, alewives were not tough to get! 4 or 5 casts and we were done, and had plenty of time to do some cat fishing around the lights with plenty of fresh bait to replenish any bait we used. met a few nice guys who ended staying up with us cat fishing until about 2:30, we ended up catching around 5 or 6 flatheads, one of which was the biggest I've ever seen. I have never laughed so hard in my life, you wouldn't believe the amount of stories that the older gentleman who we had just met had to share with us. memories that will last a lifetime with some really good guys. we hit the water at 6 that morning with alewives on down lines, one 26 incher put up a good fight, and we hadother pull down but we missed him. that's all for the. first day. next day i didn't get up early to catch bait as I was by myself, so i settled for some peanuts caught later in the day. i fished around dusk and ended up finding a nice school of fish which i caught my limit relatively quickly and was ready to head home. popped my last fish in the cooler, turned around to reel up the rest of my lines, and all 3 of my back lines were bent over. great. I released every last one of them as fast I could, they were smaller than average fish, so I think there survival chances were a little higher. here are some pics of the 2 days I fished! some fish checking out my down lines!
