My wife and I had another great spring fishing vacation at SML. We again stayed in a house around R11 which gave us good access to both rivers. We fished from Craddock Creek to R24 to B22. We had success on docks on or close to the main lake, main lake points, and deep water walls. Main lake points seem to be better with some wind. Best baits were wacky rigged Senko in green pumpkin, 1/8 oz. shakey head with Zoom trick worm in watermelon seed, Texas rigged white Zoom fluke, and a homemade flat sided crankbait with chartreuse sides and orange belly. Could not get a topwater bite going, but did manage to lose what appeared to be a 5 lb’er on a Zara spook. He jumped twice and shook the hook. The fish seemed to be further along towards their summer areas than this time the last 2 springs.

Thanks for the report, looks like you had a great time. Nice to see your wife enjoys getting out on the water with you, it also looks like she beat you.

In fact we would like to retire on SML. She definitely caught the biggest largemouth and did damn good from the back of the boat!
