Water temp:65-69
Water clarity: seems like mud from recent rains had made it out of the coves and into main channel. Started seeing more mud further I went up the Scurves.
Started out at noon I headed to S curves.
Pulled bait for 3 hours with nothing before a nice flathead got hungry. That kept the girlfriend from wanting to go home before dark.
Reset and pulled bait in the same cove for awhile longer until a 36” decided to hammer a front down rod that was in 20fow.
Pictured and released!!
I need to take better measurements. Tape measure won’t cut it in a hurry. Wondering if could build a folding measurement block/table.
I’m headed out this afternoon to buy a scale. Rookie mistake!!
In February i lost my mother suddenly at 57 so Easter has been tough, but thanks to good fishing and good company and of course this site to steer me in the right direction.
So thanks for all the posts and info that y’all take the time to do for the benefit of the rest. Hope I can continue to contribute and eventually get the confidence to come out for a striper tournament one day.

Nice report! MWard was selling some nice bumpboards to measure fish at one point, not sure if he still has a few.

Nice report! MWard was selling some nice bumpboards to measure fish at one point, not sure if he still has a few. I believe I do still have materials to make a couple more - need to confirm if I can find things in the wreck I call a garage.... |
