Was at the lake this past weekend to get some fishing in with my dad and brother.
Left the dock Friday evening around 6:30 and headed to a main lake point on the upper Roanoke to throw flukes and bucktails until it got dark. First fish came around 7:00 on a fluke. Ended up catching 4 more between 7:50 and 8:30. Biggest fish was around 10 lbs, the rest were in the mid 20" range - all released.
Same game plan for Saturday morning. Saw a good deal of surface action but no hookups.
Saturday evening we headed back to the same point that we were at on Friday and caught 3, again on flukes and bucktails. All fish caught between 7:50 and 8:30. All smaller fish around 20" and all released.
Hope to get back in a few weeks to chase the night bite.

Thanks for the report! Look forward to more! I haven't fished the lake for right at a year now. I was really hoping to join the Mafia on Saturday....but I found out today that is not an option. Looking forward to hitting the night bite as soon as my schedule allows!
