Didnt make it on the water tonight till around 9PM. Ventured up lake and found it to be way too crowded and way too much trash. Wanted to fish in Grimes, but it looked like a sawmill exploded between Indian and Grimes. Retreated back to where we had the lake to ourselves. Beautiful and peaceful night. Bite was good and nine flopped in the boat, several others were hooked and lost, including what looked to be a real dandy. Everything was either 2 pounds or 10 pounds, nothing in between. All fish were released. Heard just a few bust and heard no alewives working yet. Shoved the boat in the garage just as the rain was starting. A very good night.

Good night fishing in my opinion. Thanks for the report.

Are you fishing top water? Or using a diving bait? Or just a jig head and fluke? Night time is my favorite. But have only fished when the alewives are spawning.
