New bait and tackle shop opens at Smith Mountain Lake

Anglers now have another option when looking for live bait or even a new or used rod and reel at Smith Mountain Lake.
Ryan Cash and Keith Inman opened Frayed Knot Bait and Tackle on Burnt Chimney Road in Wirtz on Feb. 9.
Cash, an avid fisherman who grew up in the Burnt Chimney area, said he always wanted to do something for the community.
Cash said that he and Inman have been fishing together for 10 years and it was their love of fishing that drove them to open the shop.
“When I saw the former Dot’s Store was empty, I thought it would be the perfect place because the overhead would be low which would allow me to keep the prices low,” he said.
