Got down to the lake around 4PM Saturday afternoon and timed a break in the rain to get the boat uncovered and in the water before dark so it would be ready first thing Sunday. My brother and I are fishing a tournament next weekend, so I wanted to see what kind of pattern I could put together in advance instead of trying to nail them down on tournament day with limited time. Water temps started at 44 and rose to 46-47 by mid day. Visibility was good in the areas I fished, >5ft which is normal for mid lake and the lower end near the dam. Caught the first around 9am, solid 2.5# LM on the A rig on a deep point in the main channel. #2 came a few hours later around 11am, another 2lber, but this time on a deep diving jerkbait off the deep end of a dock. Decided to make a run to the lower end of the lake before the wind kicked up and ended up with a new PB. She went 5lbs 7oz and 22 inches. Came off the first cut I tried off an isolated dock in about 12 ft of water on the A rig. The wind really started to pick up and I made the run back to the dock with 2-3ft white caps in the main channel. Made it back safe thankfully and looking forward to next weekend!
