A dislodged channel marker is in the process of being replaced.
Channel marker B19, located on the Blackwater River arm of the lake, was knocked down last week in an apparent hit and run, according to Sgt. Karl Martin of the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries.
The marker was completely dislodged from the bottom of the lake and will require a new pylon. A replacement channel marker can cost between $2,000 to $6,000, Martin said.
