didnt read the article ...don't need to. Not real moonshine Today's generation couldn't handle a Dixie cup or mason jar

I should probably clarify (so as not to unintentionally offend anyone) that my comment was specifically directed at the flavored spirits that are now sold in liquor stores and labeled as moonshine. With laws that govern alcohol content that can be sold legally, what’s available in stores today doesn’t really compare to 160 or 180 proof moonshine. But then, probably wouldn’t be a good thing for that level of potency to become available in today’s world.
I did go back and read the article, and have seen movie they reference. Haven’t read the book.

Oh I remember. We used to have some good shine at the meet and greets. 180 proof peach shine but not the kind with fruit floating in it. Man, them was the good old day.

i have a moonshine connection down at SML, i usually buy 2-3 quarts a year. its pretty damn good.
but really though, who wants to drink 160-180 proof moonshine to begin with? i would rather it be proofed down to around 100 proof
