WT - 41.5°- 44°
AT - 29°- 49°
Partly cloudy
Wind - light early to 15 mph by evening
Water - clear to heavy stained.
Bait - 8 - 12" gizz. pulled on free and light line boards.
Had my bait by 7:00 am and was off to hunt some fish.
After deploying my lines at different locations I had several pull backs with the board streaking backwards about 4 foot or so.
Actually saw two of the fish flash while they were going after the baits. Not big fish mind you but, worth going after to avoid a skunk.
Before seeing those fish flashes I was thinking they were too small to take my baits, and were just tugging on them.
I tried speeding up my offerings with no action at all. Then slowing down and stopping, which got the most of my fish.
I ending up boating five fish in the
28 - 30" range and had two others come unbuttoned.
Found no large fish willing to bite.
I probably could have jigged and had some success but, I really enjoy planer board fishing.
