Happy New Year, guys. Quick question... I'm taking advantage of some vacation today and tomorrow to install a new Carbon 12 and separate SS3D module on the new boat. Nitro provided a blue seas block under the console; however, I'm not very confident that they ran heavy gauge wire to it -- looks skimpy, honestly. I've ready that the Carbons can be a little finicky about voltage drop -- so I'm inclined to make a new home run connection directly to the battery with 10 or 12 gauge wire... BUT, I just realized that I don't have any tinned marine wire in my workshop.
1. Any one know where ~15' each of black and red Ancor 10 or 12 gauge tinned marine wire can be procured on a holiday in the Lynchburg area?
2. Think I'd be making a big mistake if I just picked up some regular stranded wire from Home Depot, or maybe even repurposed an exterior extension cord for this?
3. Given the above, maybe I should just tap onto the factory blue seas block, and hope that I don't have any issues with voltage drop or interference from other accessories?
Any quick advice is sincerely appreciated. Thx.

1. I don't know.
2. I ran extension cord to my front unit about 4 years ago. No problem whatsoever.
3. I'm not sure how your boat is setup. I run dedicated lines to all my electronics. I also keep my starting battery isolated from my my house battery using a blue seas ACR. This eliminates voltage drops when starting and keeps my house battery charged. I also don't have to worry about flipping that stupid "1 2 both" switch that came with my boat. Of all the improvements I have made to my boat, this one is at the top of the list.
I hope this helps.

I should add that I have 6 lines connected to the positive battery stud of my blue seas switch and the same amount of lines connected to the negative stud of my house battery. These include: 2 carbons (12 inch), bait tank, 20 amp wash down pump, recycle pump for livewell, and my original accessory line for everything else.

I went with Yam’s advice on the arc switch as well. It works great and I never wonder if my boat is gonna start.
