A very unusual fish. I have never seen one before this picture.
The man in this picture is Dale Johannson. He now has the official record in the state of WV for biggest Leopard Pike caught in a stream. The location is Muddy Creek in Tyler County.

Apex predator, high speed swimmers. Perffered forage is gazelle shad.

A couple of years ago, my ex- caught one much smaller (~15") in the Staunton River. She's a French model.

I just Googled "leopard pike', went to images. This looks like a photo-shop job. There are 2 images side-by-side on the first row of images - one is the picture you see above, the next is the exact same dood holding a fish the exact same size in the exact same position only it's a normal looking pike. Nothing in Wikipedia or any of the fresh water game fish sources I use.
So, I hafta ask - this was a joke, right?
