 RaeRae Owen is the daughter or Randy & Debbie Owen, and is currently fighting a battle with Lukemia - undergoing chemo treatments at Duke Hospital. Randy is a participant in the Striper Mafia tournament series over the last few years and lives down in NC and splits his time on the water between Kerr/Buggs and Smith Mountain Lake.    John M and the team at Magnum Point Marina brought up the idea of putting on a benefit tournament to help raise funds for the Owen's to use towards RaeRae's treatment and costs associated with the families stay at Duke and travels back and forth from home. The Striper Mafia is proud and honored to support this cause by assisting in running the event. Post-Tournament Check-in & Awards will be held at Crazy Horse Marina - there will be plenty of on-water docking & trailer parking available 2 fish total length, Catch-Photo-Release $100 per team entry fee; $25 optional Big Fish pot Magnum Point Marina is guaranteeing $1000 to 1st place, and there will be a minimum of three places paid out, plus raffle prizes. 70% of the team entry fees will go toward funds to be donated to the Owen Family. Thanks to a kind donor we will have a Youth Division in the Fishin' for RaeRae tournament - Trophies & Prizes to the top 3 youth (single largest fish, can submit one of the teams fish). Bring the youth out and help them learn the importance of giving back to those in need! We will be raffling off the following items at the post-tourney check-in at Crazy Horse Marina - a raffle ticket will be $20/ticket, or 6 for $100, and you can put the tickets towards any of the prizes (i.e. you can put one ticket on each prize, all your tickets one prize, etc). Anyone is welcome to come and purchase tickets & participate - not limited to participating anglers, but must be present at the post-tourney check-in (around 4pm on 1/12 at Crazy Horse Marina). 100% of the proceeds from the raffle will go to RaeRae and the Owen family. Post-tournament check-in & awards location has been set at Crazy Horse Marina.
If you pre-register by Thursday, 1/10 you will be able to pick up your token card & measuring board at Magnum Point Marina during business hours on Friday - otherwise you can pick up at a Friday evenig meeting on the Roanoke side - still working on the location (likely to be either Halesford Harbor or somewhere around the Westlake area).

 Team StriperAssassins & Virginia Metal Fabrications have donated a solid Aluminum 8 pole hitch receiver carrier which will be raffled off at the Reelin’ for RaeRae tournament on January 12th with funds raised going to the Owens. This is perfect for those trips to the Shore, or even when making a run to the Marina on SML to head out fishing. Virginia Metal Fabrication donated the material, the laser cutting, press brake, band saw, welder plus welding materials and Team StriperAssassians - Tommy Moore and Jesse Fulcher donated the fabrication time & skills. The holder fits a 2" receiver is 39" wide & 22" long with two holes for adjustments and 12" tall. |
