Overcast...AT 30 to 40 degrees. WT 46 to 51. Cold front with snow coming on Sunday.
I took off work Friday to do a bit of scouting for Saturday's tourney. I got to the lake about 6 PM and picked up Lund 2 and we wentt in search for bait. Found some scattered marks in a BW Creek in 20 to 25 FOW and on the 3rd throw of the taped net I pulled up a nice 9 or 10 inch gizzard. We spent the next couple hours filling the tank up with that sized gizzards 2 or 3 at a time. Left 15 or so in Lund2's tank for Saturday and felt ready to go for Friday.
Friday started way upriver in search of fish....all we found d was trash and debris still starting at about the b44 marker. Fished up there a bit with no luck and we started moving downriver in search of fish. Ended up finding a few late in the day and had our plan for Saturday.
Saturday started great...had a fish in the boat in the first 15 minutes and another on board 15 minutes after that although they were both smaller fish in the 26 and 27 inch range. We stayed in that area the rest of the morning and caught a few more largest being 31 inches. The smaller fish kept killing baits so we went in search of larger fish. Tried various other areas the rest of the day and caught a few more bit never found the elusive bigger fish that have just been absent from the BW all fall it seems. Catching good numbers this fall just no big fish.
All in all we had a great time....caught bait and caught fish. Thank you Striper Mafia for hosting another great tournament!
