I’ve got a Calusa 8’ net. Hand line is around 25’. Would it be better to add rope to the end or replace the hand line altogether?

I just tie more on - just use a GOOD knot
However, keen in mind that the net will mostly close up after some depth depending on the net weight, mesh, size - so there is a point where more depth won’t help

It’s 1/2” mesh and 1.5 lbs per foot. The end of the hand line has a loop. I thought about tying a loop in some rope and using a handshake knot to connect them. Thanks for the help

I use a 25' dock line that has a hoop on one end and then just pass the loop through the handloop in the net and the other end back through the loop to attach it....if that makes sense at all....that way it is easy to remove as well. but to Mike's point above...if you don't make any other modifications your net is only likely to cover 2-3 foot by the time it sinks to the depth where you need the extra handline
