Fished different areas from Hardy to Lynville. Got some good bait right off, had about 20 good ales in 2 cast. Dollar bill ales. Pulled 2 boards light line, 2 boards with 1/4 oz weights, and 2 down lines. Nothing all day, had one on late in the day on a down line but pretty sure it was a cat. Wish I could tell more but third time out and skunked again. Haven’t had this many skunks since I first started fishing sml off a kayak few years back. Oh well! And lost my rain jacket to boot!

So, I'm gonna guess the wild swings in water levels due to recent rains have caused the fish to fall into a funk. They get used to a certain pattern of ebb and flow. When that is interrupted it throws them off, not unlike a hard front might do. As the bait continues to bunch up and feed the predator fish will be close behind. Won't be log before you start hanging reports of a very different nature, methinks.
I'm headed out SUN, will report on what I see/do.

My thoughts are the same about the water flows. Water temps are going from 55 in the morning to 62 in the afternoon. Skunks are just part of the learning process, makes me move and try things out of my comfort zone. I definitely learned more the last few days not catching anything than had I caught fish in the usual manner.
