Air temps from 69-36 Water Temps 65-69 Trashy Dirty Translucent stained
We fished from Hardy to the state park.
Bait was a mixed bag, alot of peanut baits, was able to find some t bone alewives and a few nice gizzards
Friday was a tough day, we had 2 bites, one fish 32" 14 lbs. It was Finns Birthday fish. Made me smile like crazy. I wish I had time to share pics but I dont right now.
Saturday Morning, started off quick with a smaller striper and a largemouth right off the bat, hung a board up, had to go get it, moved, deadness.
Hit another spot at 3:30, by 4:10 we had a 28", 2 20", and about a 5lb largemouth.
Moved to another similar spot about 5:15, and picked up 4 real quick between 24" and 18" schoolies.
Ended up with 10 fish counting the green feeshes, so a great day out really.
Sunday morning woke to the howling wind.
Finn turned 9 on Friday, hes been throwing a cast net for a few months, a little Betts Buddy, its only 4ft. Every time he tries to throw at the westlake dock some butthead tries to ruin it for him. To be honest, children and seniors are disrespected groups. Dont get me started on the lack of respect out there these days for younguns and older folks, just pisses me off, and I am neither.
Either way, I am getting ready to pull out and he screams "daddy, I got my first fish in the cast net" I walk over there only to see him with about an 8
" juvenile striper. I was so proud of my boy, mainly that he stuck with it all weekend until he netted something. He is a great kid and very special.
We fished close in the wind, had 3 take downs to no avail, loaded her up and headed south.
Hope to be back up in the beautiful weather this weekend if the stars line up correctly.
Tight lines yall.
