Anybody have eyes on the water around Hardy, Hardy to Moormans? Rode down to the ramp at Moormans this morning and the water looked good. Visibility was 1.5 - 2 feet, nothing floating that I could see. This was definitely not what I was expecting after some of the reports I had heard the past couple of weeks. I'm on vacation this week and going to try to get out a few days, so just wondering about putting in at Hardy and running down.
Thanks, Greg

I went by Hardy about 6:30 PM, which was sometime after the barge and crane departed on their 3 hour tour. The highest I had ever seen the water was about 4 inches or so from the bottom of the stringers on the dock at the ramp. This evening there was about a foot or so of the dock posts sticking out of the water. I ain’t got the words for what the river looked like coming in. Gonna be the third highest crest in the Roanoke River records. That means it’s gonna pickup stuff off the banks that has been accumulating for 30 years.

Not sure about the large dock or the dock/pontoon that went downstream as well but I expect those were apprehended as I the fire boats and DGIF were on it However, the trash / timber is likely to be terrible so be careful all
