I scheduled next week off from work to spend on the lake. Have a few friends coming to fish - looks like as luck, weather, and timing would have it , may still be too hot for fall striper fishing I guess we can fish for bass, perch, or maybe catfish. Oh well, we will fish regardless. And watch college football, grill steaks, and drink a beer or two If we have any success fishing, I will post

+1 on what Mr Ward said. My guess is you'll see some fish starting to feed. You know what to look for - if the bait's there the fish are there. Good luck!

The summer kept me going in a lot of different directions. I don't know that I've fished, or caught so much as a bluegill since I last striper fished in May. So, yeah I am looking forward to the break -

I'm off next Thursday, Friday, and the following Monday as well to do some fishing before knee surgery. I'll be pulling big baits behind planar boards.

So, yeah I am looking forward to the break - I feel ya - been in the same boat. But don’t worry - it’s like riding a bicycle - you don’t forget. But in case you need some reminders, make sure you hold your reel like this

You know, I have seen sale papers at various times in the past for Bass Pro, Cabelas, and probably Dicks Sporting Goods with the model fisherman holding spinning reels in that fashion. Always leaves me shaking my head. Wouldn't you think Bass Pro or Cabelas quality review would catch that?

Well, figured I would close this here rather than start a new thread with no real substance. Weather pretty much killed any productive fishing for me this week. We did do a little perch fishing early in the week for fun and caught some small perch (as well as sunfish) using night crawlers fished on drop shots. Got one evening of striper fishing in with jigs, lost one and boated nothing. Then the rain hit-
