My lady and I did a little evening perchin. Had lots of fun. We caught 75 whites, 1 yellow, 1 channel cat.
70 white perch will go to the SMSC FISH FRY.
I will tell ya, one of my double hook ups was a 20" channel cat and perch on a 5 ft. Light weight spinning rod I use for trout fishing. What a fun bull dogging battle it was.
I did a little testing with small circle hooks.They worked out well. I have a lot of perch that get hooked deep using tru-turn hooks. Circle hooks are easier to work with to keep this from happening. Pinching the barb down is even better for quick removal.
Nice, there was little boat traffic.
