Just wondering whether anyone has any firsthand experience with either of these setups on SML. I recently purchased a Solix 12 MEGA SI, but have not opened the box (still undecided). The other option for me would be the Carbon 9 with StructureScan 3D bundle (and probably an Airmar TM150 for 2D).
I'm worried that the Solix will be buggy and a little slow (and lots of reports re: an unresolved bug that makes the depth jump around when in shallow water); although the MEGA imaging is pretty awesome when it works...
On the other hand, while the Carbon will be faster and more familiar to me (coming from Simrad), I could only afford a smaller 9" screen size and also I'm not sure whether I'd be truly impressed/awed by it (compared to the promise of the MEGA images) or see a noticeable difference from the Simrad/TotalScan setup I previously ran...
Anyone love/hate either?

I have the Solix 15 Mega and love it. I posted a couple pics of it in the Electronics section on Dec. 4, 2017. No issues with mine so far and I’ve them for just over a year now.

Those images are fantastic -- and exactly why I was swayed to the Solix... It's so tough leaving Navico, but this makes me want to keep the 'Bird! I'll be handling the install, myself (on a new Nitro Z19 Sport), so if you have any pointers on set-up, perhaps we can meet up out on the lake sometimes.
