I just bought another boat and it has a Hydro Wave with striper thunmp chip on it, was just wondering if anyone has ever tried one ?

My partner's old Skeeter had one. He'd turn it on and I have to be honest - there was no (zero) difference in the bite while using it for bass fishing. I've read mixed reviews on its performance for other species (incl stripers). It's def no magic button. The fish do not instantly turn on when you switch it on based on my experiences.
You still gotta be able to read a map and electronix, you still gotta be a student of fish (incl prey) behavior, and you still gotta be able to execute when they do bite. No device is gonna do all that for you.

That's what I thought aswell, I thought if was a magic device he would not have let it go with the boat .

Went to a tidal river today. Managed to get five in the boat (all realeased. And honestly couldn't tell if any difference or not . But however I turned it on when I started catching bait, and the bait seemed to be calmed down and stuck around. Whether or not it's anything to it or just one of those things.
Plan on trying More.
