Just rolling in off the water at 2:30 AM. Did pretty well as we put 13 in the boat tonight plus one largemouth. Still an abundance of 2017 models but we hauled in a few nice ones with the biggest approaching 9 pounds. All were caught on plugs. We did a lot of jumping around in the mid Roanoke area. I’m not one to complain much, cause I’ve done a few bone headed things myself, but the circus tonight in the state park/s curve area was about more than I could stand. It started with two boats that were basically running car headlights at a good plowing speed roaming the area. Finally they had moved far enough away and their lights were pointed away from me. Then I see a boat coming from a half a mile away come straight to the point I was on and proceed to pull up IN FRONT of my path and proceed to drop an anchor 60 feet from me. I was in shock. I gave up there and moved a bit. I ended up right on the marker at R22. I see a boat coming a mile away that comes straight at me and comes off plane again right IN FRONT of me at 60 feet. I nearly walked on water. They don’t shut off, but plow water good as they pass by in the 30 to 40 foot range. Night fishing here on the weekends is a real struggle.
