Greetings All,
I have a Minn Kota Terrova with I Pilot and this past week the remote seems to have crapped out.... I thought it was the battery that had died but no such luck. I replaced it and the remote would still not turn on. Just curious if anyone has had this happen to theirs. I did have the foot pedal with me when this happened and it works fine so I don't think it is in the motor.
Any thoughts or comments are much appreciated!
thanks, Chris

I’ve read that the rubber button membrane can tear and allow water into the electronics, which causes a sudden partial or full failure. However I thought his was remedied on newer remotes. If your remote is from early in the terrova model life, maybe that’s your problem.

Same thing happened to me three weeks ago. Caught bait the night before, went up to fish the next morning tried to put my motor down, dead. Keep another battery on the boat and replaced. Nothing. Was at captains quarters by 7:15. Duane had one. It wasn’t cheap. But what are you gonna do. Only thing was it didn’t have the auto stow and deploy button. So I had to hook up my foot pedal to stow and deploy. When you replace your remote just make sure it’s compatible with your motor. The newer motors are Bluetooth the older one aren’t. It’s actually pretty hard to find a new remote that isn’t Bluetooth. At least ones that have the auto stow/deploy buttons.
