No rest for the weary! We just wrapped up a great 2017/18 season on Saturday, but we're already planning for the 2018/19 season.
Below are the dates for next season - at the moment the April date is a little tentative until we can confirm the Big Bass Tournament date in April and determine if it's possible to avoid that - though where Easter falls this year it might be tough - we'll see.
SML-based Events: October 27 December 8 March 16 April 13*
As with this past season, the Striper Mafia Team of the Year will be determined by the top 3 of 4 scores of the SML events. We might tweak the scoring system a little for 2018/19 as well to reflect the larger challenge of winning in a tournament with a larger number of participants. Look for the rules for 2018/19 to basically stay the same as before, and hopefully we can continue forward with all the aspects that make the series great (the raffles, the youth competition, the ladies competition, etc).
If you or your business might be interested in supporting the Tournament Series as a sponsor, please drop me a PM and we can discuss.
More info will roll out over the Summer, but make sure you pencil in these dates and plan to join us!

Unfortunately we had to cancel the Watts Bar event - we only had 8 that signed up even with an extended deadline and with that few between the event sponsor fee and the 10% of entry fees we could not come close to covering the costs of the polygraph and the other hard-cost associated with the event, even before considering travel/hotel to get out there to host the event. We certainly don't make anything on these events, but at the same time can't lose our shorts dipping into pockets deep for the polygraphs and such. We also felt that for those that were making the trip specifically for the tournament that it created a poor "return" potential for them and knew some would rather not go and save the travel/hotel costs, etc with that few folks. I'm bummed as I was looking forward to seeing folks out there and there was a small chance things were coming together that would have allowed me to get on the water out there on Friday as well, and I know others were looking forward to the trip - I hope they go on and fish and perhaps without the "tournament curse" hanging out there they will land a 50 lber! Looking forward to seeing everyone on SML here in a few weeks - we're about 3 weeks away from the 1st event - if you have not already, make sure to pre-register on-line at www.StriperMafia.com/registration - the SML events should be great this season as we have a super set of prize packages for Team of the Year and and Big Fish of the Series - and I'm also looking forward to the Youth Competition as well and seeing our young anglers compete again as well!
