On pre-tied leaders anyone ever tried putting a loop in the non-hook end so they can just hitch it to the swivel?
dont know how it would affect breaking strength.

I do not use that method for stripers. I do use it for just about everything else when I think I might be adjusting leader length or some other variable with the leader.
I don’t keep pre tied leaders for stripers, so that’s probably the main reason why I don’t do it that way. I do keep pre tied leaders for white perch, walleyes, a few for crappies, and even some for sunfish. Those all just have a loop on the swivel end.

I used to do that. Very efficient. However, when snagging or losing fish, the loop knot was the first to go. This was good if I didn't want to risk having to turn around to retrieve my board. However, this was bad if I lost a fish. Turning around and retrieving a board is better than losing a fish. Thus, I quit using a loop. And this applies to both the perfection loop and various other loop knots.
Over time. I have settled into creating my stinger rigs at home and storing them on a pool noodle. I then tie my leader in the field.
