I heard once Carvins Cove was a big striper spot. Are there any still in there?

what sucked for me is that was my first cast of the night, was putting a nightcrawler on another pole when the slack line i left on my carolina rig took off, i dropped the other pole and snatched the chicken liver one. aside from a tiny bluegill, i never hooked another fish the rest of the night after that striper...

Buy a cast net now, atleast a 6 footer....learn to throw it, then when you get to the lake in September troll up to a dock light and throw it. Let it sink, then quickly pull it shut, and pull it out of the water. Shouldnt take more than a few lights for get you enough bait for the enitre night. . . Cut shad, and live shad are going to be the way to go. Also fish shallow, the idea that big fish are living in the middle of the lake 100 feet down is for fools. . .

I spent 20 years working in chicken processing plants. While working down in Atlanta I used to fish West Point Lake and some other places on the Alabama border. One weekend I took about 5# of chicken liver I saved from work to a campground at West Point. I couldn't count the Stripers I caught that weekend. I wound up making a deal with the owner of the campground and took him big bags of liver in exchange for free camping. Every night at work I'd sweep up all the liver that hit the floor and freeze it. Worked out to be a good deal!

All I use is fresh cut eel, cut giz shad and live threadfin. And when I catfish, all I fish for is large blues. Never EVER caught anything like this on livers.
