Got to the lake Friday evening and went to fill the bait tank up for fishing Saturday.
Was disappointed to find water temps were at 44 degrees which seems really cool for late March.
Went to nearby creek and found some scattered bait holding pretty deep and after about 2 hours we weren't real happy with how much bait we had but we had enough to get started Sat morning.
Started in the back of a creek Sat morning and had a 34 inch fish on the boat within 5 minutes of getting the boards out. Oh boy here we go...and didn't have another bite for 2 hours when we caught a 28 incher while pulling across the main channel.
Took a break in the middle of the day and went way upriver in the afternoon. Spent another 2 hours to put 12 more baits into the tank and then we were able to catch 2 more fish that were 27 and 28 inchers.
Tried the back of anther creek in the evening and had one bite with a very large fish on the hook for about a minute when he took a run under the boat and came unbuttoned.
Sunday morning we started short on bait but knew it would be a short morning. Started in the same creek and like the day before action was immediate with a real fat 34.5 inch fish on first thing.
While trying to figure out how to get the camera to take a better picture we had another board get smoked and had another 34 inch fish on. After a hard battle we got that fish in the net and wham!...another board got crushed. This time it was another fat 35 inch fish.
We fished for another couple hours and caught another 28 inch fish and a nice green fish as well.
Weather was kind of crazy as we had some cold rain slush mix in the mornings followed by real nice sunny skies in the afternoon.
