Decided to take advantage of the nice weather Saturday afternoon and go wet a line in the kayak for a few hours. Ended up catching 2 LMs with the biggest going 18.5". Both came off of secondary points in 10-15ft of water on the A-rig.

Yea she was good and fat. Looks like they're really starting to feed heavily in preparation for the spawn. A-rig from the kayak isn't the easiest adventure. I throw it on a 7'3" MH but have to go more sidearm motion so I'm not hooking my gear behind me. I usually end up with a pretty sore shoulder since it's all upper body since I'm sitting vs being able to stand and use your legs and hips in a boat.

Copy all. I struggle throwing one w/ both feet firmly planted. I figured you'd have to make some accommodation for being seated. I'm with you on the sore shoulder afterwards. Definitely a workout.

Caught 3 more this past Sunday from the yak in almost the same exact places on the same A-rig, so the pattern is still solidly in place. Biggest went 19" this time with a chunky 17" and a 16.5" Will try to post a few pics shortly.

This was mid lake area across from the State park, but was in March when the water was in the mid to upper 40s, so the A rig was killing it. But, I've put that away for the season and switched over to more finesse tactics now that they've moved up much shallower.
