So I was thinking of upgrading from balloons to the redirig floats. While I was looking at the site I noticed that they had like “planer floats” for like $25 for a pair. I was just wondering if anybody had used these products before and what their thoughts were. $25 for a pair is way cheaper than any planer boards I’ve seen but I thought prob too good to be true. Any other suggestions on good planer boards are welcome. I’m pretty new to this sport and haven’t had much experience experimenting with different brands or styles.

The planer floats aren’t what I would consider a true planer board. I have a pair and I’m not sure they’ve seen the water in years. They do make a great float though - been using them for 15yrs.
Look up Rockcreek planer boards. Tommy from this site makes them. They are as good as anything you will find for live bait striper fishing.

The “TOS” planer floats are not intended to replace planets but to get a couple more baits in the space between your straight back floats and your closest boards

I use them every time I head out fishing and they are very good for what mward described above. They do not replace planer boards as they do not plane out far enough but they do spread out some which allows you to have multiple floats out back.
I typically use these floats as light lines to try and put baits just above the tops of the sunken trees that are away from shore where my boat is while I am pulling planers right up against the bank.
I catch a lot of fish on them but they are typically the smaller sub 30 inch fish.
One other thing - oddly enough I have found that they way you put the line into the "clip release" greatly effects how much these plane out. Basically if you put the end of the line closest to your rod tip on the top half of the float and on the outside of the boat the float tends to plane out further.
Hope all this helps.

This is 3 across on the back of the boat yellow circles are the TOS floats and the red is a standard float.

The Redi-Rigs worked for me, due to the fact that my poles could not handle the large planer boards. The only problem that I have had with them is that your bait can not be of YAM size or quality. I've had the large shad pass my boat pulling the Redi-Rig. Had to stop someone and trade them biguns for dollars.

Thanks for the info. I’ll have to pick me up a couple floats and some of the tos planer floats to try out myself. I think I saw they are running a special with free shipping until the 11th or something. I’ll have to jump on that.
